External Type Sectioners

Definition and Areas of Use: External Type (HT) Separators (Sectionators) are produced to operate in open air conditions. Failure in the lines where HT Splitters are used does not cause a power outage on all lines. It opens the circuit in the transmission line when there is a fault. Thus, it prevents the fault from going backwards and prevents the power outage from spreading.

There are different types: External Normal (HN), External Grounded (HT), External Fused (HS) and External Fused-Grounded (HST).

MV Polymer Insulators

Definition and Areas of Use: MV Polymer Insulators are used in medium voltage distribution energy transmission lines. It is preferred in regions with high marine and industrial pollution due to its advantages such as providing better insulation thanks to its high hydrophobic properties, being puncture-proof type of composite insulator, ease of installation, and being lighter than porcelain insulators and glass insulators.

Polymer Surge Arresters

Definition and Areas of Use: MV surge arresters are used in distribution and station systems to protect transformers and other network elements against excessive system voltages caused by the atmosphere and operating conditions. Metal Oxide type surge surge arresters are designed to have no negative impact on the energy system at normal operating voltage, but do not cause possible damage during typical fluctuations in the network. This feature of surge-free surge arresters is due to the voltage-current characteristics of metal oxide resistors, which have high variability. This variability feature is much higher than SiC surge arresters.
